🎷 All Musicians
Feel free to bring your own sheet music, as long as it’s in the original key. Play what suits your instrument best – it's all about joining in!

You can play anything you like at Big Jammin - whether it's the Kazoo or your tenor saxophone - all instruments are welcome!

🎸 Guitarists
We’ll be playing all songs in their original keys, but don’t worry – we will also include capo suggestions to help make trickier chords more manageable.

Need a capo? No stress – we’ll have a couple available to borrow on the night.

🔌 Kit & Equipment
This is a semi-acoustic event, and there won't be a PA system.
Small amplifiers are welcome, but they must be PAT tested. Please also bring your own PAT-tested extension cable.

Not had your gear tested yet? Your local electrician should be able to do it for you 

There will be a couple of acoustic guitars, a cajon, some percussion pieces and maybe a few other instruments for you to pick up and play on the night.

🎤 Singers
Sing loud, sing proud (and it’s totally okay to sit out if you don’t know the song or need a break). Have a go at the harmonies if you feel fancy! Doesn't matter if you get them wrong - this is a jammin session - it's all about having a go!

🎵Lyrics and Chords

We encourage you to bring your own printed music to Big Jammin as long as it's all in the original keys! They will also be projected onto a screen at the front of the room, and will be made available to view on your smartphones, iPads etc via QR code.

We will also have backing tracks that we can play in the background to help guide you through the song and keep time.

What to expect at the session

🕖 7:00pm – Arrive & Set Up
Come in, say hi, grab a drink, set up your instrument or get comfy.

​

🎸 7:30pm – Let the Jamming Begin!
We’ll kick things off with a bit of a warm up. Play, sing, or just soak it all in – no pressure!

​

🍻 9:00pm – Break Time
Time to mingle, chat, and grab a drink at the bar. Meet new people and swap stories (or guitar tips)!

​

🎤 9:30pm – More Jammin!
We’ll dive back in for another round of great music. Whether you join in or just enjoy the vibes, it’s all part of the fun.

🎵 11:00pm – Finish
We’ll wrap up around 11, hopefully with big smiles and a few new friends.

​

✨ A few things to know:

• Don’t worry if you don’t know every song – just sit back and enjoy or join in when you’re ready.

• No one is ever singled out – it’s all about having fun and learning together.

• There’ll be donation buckets for The Swan Song Project – give if you feel moved to, but no pressure.

• The bar’s open all night – feel free to grab drinks whenever.

• This is a relaxed, welcoming space for everyone – from music-loving singalongers to seasoned musicians.
